Maps
Africa is located mainly in the North and Eastern hemisphere. There is some of Africa that is located in the southern hemisphere. The equator runs straight through the middle of Africa.
The Land/ Climate
Most Africa is, pretty much, a desert. Therefore, most of Africa will have a desert climate. There is a rain forest that runs through Africa starting at the West and ending a little over halfway through Africa. There are other climates in Africa, such as, steppe, savanna, and Mediterranean. These climates are located around the desert (steppe), or right around the rain forest (savanna). The Mediterranean is located at the very north and south part of Africa.
Culture
In Africa their main two religions are Christianity and Islam. People that practice Christianity are south of the Sahara. While, people that believe in the Islam faith are in the Sahara or in the horn. Their major cities are located around the Sahara because nobody wants to live in a desert. In Africa, they have three major sports: soccer, cricket, and rugby. In South Africa, the number one sport is soccer. Above, there is a picture of the South African soccer team.
Economy and Human Environment Interaction
Africa produces a variety of things on of the major resources they produce is gas and oil. They mainly produce this in North African countries. Their means of transportation are much different than what we have here in the United States. People in Africa get around with trucks or cars but they don't drive them, unless they have gas. But, even when they do have gas, everyone in the village gathers their things, puts them on top of the vehicle, and everyone gets on top that. This type of transportation is illustrated in the picture above.
